Paragon Gaming buys Edgewater Casino for $42M, plans improvements

VANCOUVER (CP) - Paragon Gaming Inc. said Tuesday it has bought the Edgewater Casino in downtown Vancouver for $42 million, and it plans to expand entertainment options.
The privately held company said it wants to add comedy festivals, concerts and community and cultural events in an attempt to improve the casino.

Paragon said it also plans to increase parking at Edgewater and shuttle transportation to the casino on the former Expo 86 grounds.

Based in Las Vegas, Paragon also owns the River Cree Resort and Casino in Edmonton and the Eagle River Casino and Travel Plaza in Woodlands County, Alta.
