Las Vegas firm takes over casino

VANCOUVER - Las Vegas-based Paragon Gaming announced yesterday that it has purchased Vancouver’s Edgewater Casino and plans to turn it into an entertainment destination. The $42-million purchase was completed on Friday, but Paragon waited until after the long weekend to announce the deal. The casino employs roughly 600 people. No layoffs are anticipated, Rowe said. Over the next several months, Paragon will work with the B.C. Lottery Corporation to reorganize the layout of the casino
