Child Focus is a non-profit agency that connects separated siblings in foster care, providing opportunities for them to heal, grow and maintain their sibling bond during a very difficult chapter in their lives. Every year in December at Child Focus’ Annual Gift Giving fundraiser, Paragon adopts families and takes care of their wish lists with anything from bikes to beds; even the most practical items for the house are needed. Each family has 3+ kids of all ages and everyone receive anywhere from 5-20 gifts.
It’s important for all children to laugh and play, especially those born with lifelong medical conditions. The Children’s Heart Foundation is committed to the well-being of these Nevada children. Children’s Heart Foundation was founded to help with the emotional and financial toll exacted by a child’s heart condition. They are eager to provide appropriate services for heart children and their families.
On February 2012, Paragon sponsored an amazing heartfelt event called “Walk with the Heart of a Child.” Again, on February 23, 2013 – Paragon Gaming proudly presented the hugely successful The 10th Annual Walk with the Heart of a Child , which 1,500 people attended and $135,000 was raised to support the Nevada based Children’s Heart Foundation.
Walk with the Heart of a Child is a high-energy celebration including a 3k walk, entertainment, raffle and the ever popular Kids Zone. Teams gather to walk in celebration and remembrance of children with heart conditions and to unite the community through awareness. Each year, the walk helps generate funds that allow the Foundation to continue to carry out its programs including Camp Mend-a-Heart, Family Outreach, Research
and more.
Noah’s Animal House is a pet sanctuary for shelter residents which allow women to escape abusive situations without leaving behind their pet. In homes where there is violence, pets are often threatened or injured by the violent partner.
It is not uncommon for an abuser to continue to control the relationship using the family pet. Noah’s is the first full service facility of its kind located on the grounds of the women’s shelter in the western region of the
United States.
Three Square is a community collaborative partnership to efficiently and effectively serve hope to those in our community struggling with hunger. Three Square currently provides more than 24 million pounds of food and grocery product the equivalent of nearly 16 million meals per year to more than 600 Program Partners including non-profit and faith-based organizations, schools and feeding sites throughout Southern Nevada. Three Square is a member of the Feeding America network of food banks.
On May 2, 2012, Diana Bennett and Scott Menke rallied friends and colleagues to raise $528,325 for the children, seniors and families struggling with hunger in Southern Nevada. The event was held at Bennett’s home and featured exclusive Zac Posen fashion designs from his Spring/Fall 2012 collection hosted by Neiman Marcus.
Guests were also treated to a personal appearance by the designer himself and four-star cuisine of legendary Chef Gustav Mauler. Funds raised benefit Three Square, Southern Nevada’s only food bank.
